BAM 31 July 2017 critique comments

I finished reading a novel by a fellow Riverside Writers Group member, D. Allen Miles. Balfour and the Shadow Pirate, is an excellent historical novel set in the years leading to America’s Revolutionary War. Great reading!

Sadly only one person came to Monday’s critique session. The comments offered, however, were very helpful. 

BAM member –

1.      Good continuation of the story –

2.      Numerous editorial suggestions – agree, working

3.      Had a hard time sorting through numerous point of view shifts – agree, working

4.      Suggested building more tension – agree, working

5.      Suggested clarifying spacing as related to cell phones or sensors – related to both, but must improve wording

6.      Liked use of “pop” of gunfire – thanks

7.      Add Judy’s reaction to Mick’s offer of a hug – agree

8.      Clarify if a terror cell size of five men is significant – agree, will improve
